The Empowerment & Workforce Initiative of the Fashion Umbrella Foundation is dedicated to providing individuals with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to thrive in creative and professional industries. By fostering hands-on experiences, mentorship, and educational programming, the initiative has created lasting career pathways for emerging professionals.

Over the years, the Fashion Umbrella Foundation has hosted a variety of workforce development programs, including:

  • Back-To-School: REFRESH – Ensuring students are equipped with essential school supplies for academic success.

  • College Readiness Workshop – Helping students navigate the college application process, scholarships, and career planning.

  • Model Boot Camp – Offering training and guidance for individuals pursuing careers in modeling.

  • Lunch With Series – A thought-leadership experience that connects professionals with industry experts.

  • Makers Festival – A platform showcasing local artisans and entrepreneurs, promoting small business growth.

  • Community-Based Workshops – Interactive sessions covering entrepreneurship, branding, and financial literacy.

Additionally, Baltimore Fashion Week serves as an integral component of workforce development by providing hands-on opportunities in production, event management, styling, photography, and more. Individuals who assist in the production phases gain real-world experience that enhances their professional skills and expands their career opportunities.
